Artec Studio 13: System Requirements

This article will assist you in selecting the optimal hardware for your 3D scanning and post-processing needs for Artec Studio 13. A list of general hardware and software requirements can be found further below.

OS
  • Windows 7, 8 or 10 (x64), Windows 11 not supported
  • Artec Studio can be installed on Apple computers
    by using Boot Camp (MacOS is not supported)

USB

 

Important note: USB 3.1 compatibility is not guaranteed, please use Artec USB Kit

CPU
  • min. Intel Core i5 (76xx and later)
  • Intel Core i7
  • Intel Core i9

AMD Ryzen, Threadripper, and Intel Xeon CPUs not supported

RAM
  • min. 12 GB for Artec Eva
  • min. 18 GB for Artec Spider

HD mode for Artec Eva and Artec Leo (available in Artec Studio 15.1 and higher)

Graphics/video cards

NVIDIA or AMD card which meets the following requirements:

  • At least 1 GB of video memory (2 GB or more are strongly recommended.)
  • NVIDIA GeForce cards are supported starting from the 400 series. Recommended cards are of the 760 series and higher.
  • NVIDIA Quadro P series cards/ NVIDIA Quadro M series cards are supported
  • NVIDIA Quadro laptop cards are supported starting from the К4100М card and higher. Older Quadro cards like the 1100M or 2100M are not supported.

Intel GPU cards:

  • Intel video cards of the 4600 series and higher are supported. The real-time fusion scanning mode is also compatible with these cards.
  • Intel cards of any series older than 4600 are not supported.
  • The texture mapping algorithm will perform slower on Intel cards (compared to NVIDIA or AMD cards).
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (integrated with the G7 series processors) is not supported at this time.
  •  texture mapping algorithm is not supported.

 

Important note: NVIDIA GeForce drivers ver. 372.90, 378.49, 378.66, 378.89 and 418.81 are not compatible with Artec Studio and might cause issues. Always use the certified driver version.

Not supported:

  • OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS, any 32-bit OS (32-bit operating systems are no longer supported starting from Artec Studio 9.2), Windows 11
  • Virtual Environments (Windows OS installed inside a Virtual Machine) are not supported
  • Graphics/video cards: AMD FirePro M6100 Fire GL V, Intel HD 4600
  • CPUs: Intel Core i7 8550U, Intel Core i5 8350U, Intel Core i7-1065G7 with integrated graphics
