Artec Studio 9: System Requirements

This article will assist you in selecting the optimal hardware for your 3D scanning and post-processing needs for Artec Studio 9. A list of general hardware and software requirements can be found further below.

OS
  • Windows 7, 8 or 10 (x64)
  • Artec Studio can be installed on Apple computers
    by using Boot Camp (MacOS is not supported)

USB

Important note: USB 3.1 compatibility is not guaranteed, please use Artec USB Kit

CPU
  • min. Intel Core i5 (76xx and later)
  • Intel Core i7
  • Intel Core i9

AMD Ryzen, Threadripper, and Intel Xeon CPUs not supported

RAM
  • min. 12 GB for Artec Eva
  • min. 18 GB for Artec Spider

HD mode for Artec Eva and Artec Leo (available in Artec Studio 15.1 and higher)

Graphics/video cards

NVIDIA or AMD card which meets the following requirements:

  • At least 1 GB of video memory
  • NVIDIA GeForce cards are supported starting from the 400 series and up to the 900 series (older, as well as newer GeForce cards, are not supported).
  • Quadro cards are not recommended for Artec Studio 9/10. They may work and deliver acceptable performance after modifying certain parameters in the NVIDIA Control Panel

Intel GPU cards:

  • Regular 3D scanning (i.e. without real-time fusion) will work on Intel cards. However, an Intel video card will provide slower 3D-rendering compared to an NVIDIA or AMD card.
  • 3D scanning in real-time fusion mode is not supported.
  • The texture mapping algorithm is not supported.

 

Not supported:

  • OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS, any 32-bit OS (32-bit operating systems are no longer supported starting from Artec Studio 9.2), Windows 11
  • Virtual Environments (Windows OS installed inside a Virtual Machine) are not supported
  • Graphics/video cards: AMD FirePro M6100 Fire GL V, Intel HD 4600
  • CPUs: Intel Core i7 8550U, Intel Core i5 8350U, Intel Core i7-1065G7 with integrated graphics
