"Access denied" or "Project format is incompatible with Artec Studio" while importing scans from Artec Leo to Artec Studio


Issue: While importing scans from the Artec Leo scanner into Artec Studio, you might encounter the following error messages:

"Access denied" or "Project format is incompatible with Artec Studio" 





Cause: Only specific (authorized) users can open/import Artec Leo projects in Artec Studio:

  • The scanner owner
  • Users from the Trusted accounts list.



In order to grant the desired user access to your Leo project(s), follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the my.artec3d website.
  2. Access the Scanners section and click on the corresponding scanner.
  3. Scroll down to the Trusted accounts section.
  4. Click the add link.
  5. Enter the email address of the my.artec3d user to whom you are granting permission.
  6. On the Leo scanner: Access the Projects screen.
  7. Tap Settings
  8. Go to ScannerGeneralSystem.
  9. Tap Renew in the Scanner configuration field.

(!) If you plan on sharing a project with someone from the Trusted accounts list by copying this project to a microSD card, make sure that you renew the scanner configuration BEFORE exporting the project to the microSD card.
