For optimal performance of Artec Studio 15.1, an up-to-date NVIDIA graphics driver is crucial.
Note: for older Artec Studio versions, please consult this article.
Before running the software (especially if you are planning on using the HD mode), please ensure that the latest GPU driver version is installed.
You can download the latest driver directly from the NVIDIA website, as well as through the NVIDIA GeForce Experience Utility (this utility is for GeForce series cards only, and cannot be used with Quadro cards).
Note: some laptops may not be compatible with the driver provided by NVIDIA. In this case, visit the website of your notebook manufacturer (e.g. HP, Dell/Alienware, Lenovo, etc) in order to locate the most up-to-date driver version.
Note: for a list of graphics cards that are compatible with the HD mode, please consult this article.
It is recommended to perform a clean installation of the driver to avoid any potential compatibility issues. The clean installation checkbox is only available in the Custom (Advanced) section of the installation process. The following screenshots serve to illustrate the install process:
Once the installation is complete, open the NVIDIA Control Panel and set the power management mode to “Prefer maximum performance”.
Reboot your computer.
(!) Please note that in order to reach the maximum performance (scanning/ HD reconstruction) especially on laptops, the laptop shall be connected to the power (do not start HD reconstruction when the laptop is on battery).
