Artec Studio 11.2.2.16 (20.12.2016)

Fixed issue that prevented Real-time fusion from working with Intel Iris Graphics drivers version 21.20.

Artec Studio 11.2.1.77 (15.11.2016)

Improvements and new features

Installation:

  • On a newly installed application, the default scanner type is now M-type scanner instead of L-type scanner.

3D scanning:

  • Fixed issue that caused FPS reduction in "Geometry + Texture" mode on some computers.
  • Fixed issue that prevented scene from moving to the coordinate system with the Z axis normal to the base (for Real-time fusion mode with enabled "Automatic base removal").
  • Fixed issue with tracking when targets of non-default size are used.

Post-processing:

  • Fixed issue with texturing using "Existing atlas UV" mode.
  • Fixed various localization issues.

Known Issues
Real-time fusion mode does not work with Intel Iris Graphics drivers version 21.20. To scan in this mode, roll back drivers to version 20.19 if possible.

Artec Studio 11.2.0.162 (17.10.2016)

Improvements and new features

  • Getting started with RealSense is much easier now: Artec Studio automatically installs Intel RealSense Runtime.
  • Autopilot is now available for 3D sensors (Intel RealSense, MS Kinect, PrimeSense and Asus Xtion)

Whats' new

Autopilot
Perfect for beginners, a great time saver for advanced users. This smart mode guides you quickly and effortlessly through all steps of post-processing of your scanned data up to the final result.

Auto-alignment

  • Works with geometry feature of scans/models as well as texture features
  • Now available for 3D models
  • Scan groups added

Texturing

  • Much faster
  • Support for the 16K resolution

Real-time fusion

  • Smart frame rate ensuring  smooth running on less powerful hardware
  • Unlimited scene size

Base removal: removing surroundings is much easier with Artec Studio 11.

  • Enable automatic base removal checkbox added to Scan panel
  • Automatically detects and removes the base, i.e. a surface that supports the object
  • Automatically positions scans with the Z axis normal to the base
  • Available for all tracking modes except for Real-time fusion

Target-assistant scanning
Artec Studio can now employ extra-hybrid tracking mode (targets + geometry + texture) and doesn't require uploading an OBC file. Maintaining high accuracy in the Targets mode is still possible.

Export to CAD and reverse-engineering software

  • Direct export to Geomagic DesignX
  • Direct export to SolidWorks

Hardware compatibility

  • MS Surface Pro 4 tablets
  • NVIDIA Quadro graphics card
  • Intel HD Graphics (4600 and higher) and Intel Iris Graphics

Miscellaneous

  • “Glossy” effect for 3D rendering
  • Redesigned UI featuring new icons

Known issues

  • Texture mapping with texture size 16k x 16k may not work on some videocards (or example, NVIDIA Quadro 2100 2GB, FirePro 5100 4GB, Radeon R9 290 4GB, GeForce GTX 780 3G).
  • Non-rigid align may not work correctly on some 3D models.
  • 3D scanning in Artec Studio 11.0 on Surface Pro 3 is currently not supported. Please update to Artec Studio 11.1 where it is supported (see above).
  • Artec Studio 11 may freeze if you change orientation of the Surface Pro 4 screen in real-time fusion scanning mode.
