This article aims at assisting you with the logout and/or re-login of the Artec Installation Center application.
Starting with version 1.5.12.72 of the application, a Log out button was implemented to make the logout procedure easier and faster.
In case you are running an older version of the Artec Installation Center, we highly recommend updating to the newest version. Update instructions are available further down in this article.
For the legacy logout/re-login procedure that works with older versions of the Artec Installation Center, please scroll towards the end of the article.
Performing a logout or re-login of the Artec Installation Center (versions 1.5.12.72 and newer)
- Launch the Artec Installation Center application.
Note: For quick access to the application, hit the Windows key on your keyboard, type Artec or aic and click on the application shortcut as it appears in your search results. - In the top right corner of the Artec Installation Center application window, hit the “Log out” button (as pictured below).
- The following notification will pop up. Click the "Yes" button to confirm.
- You will now see the Artec Installation Center login window. Enter the new credentials of the user account you wish to use.
Note: your email address is your login.
After entering the credentials, click the "Sign in" button and you will be logged in with the new user account. - In case you need to activate a software license or a scanner, simply click the Activate button in the corresponding row.
Updating the Artec Installation Center
The above re-login procedure is only available for Artec Installation Center versions 1.5.12.72 and newer. If you are using an older version, please update it as follows:
- Option 1: click "Yes" on the update dialog that appears upon launch of the AIC application.
- Option 2: click the "New AIC version available" link in the left bottom corner of the application (as pictured below).

Performing a logout or re-login of an older version of the Artec Installation Center without updating.
In case you are intentionally using a legacy version of the Artec Installation Center and do not wish to update (e.g. for Artec Studio 8 users), please follow the steps outlined below:
- Navigate to the Windows Control Panel, select Folder options (in Windows 7) or File Explorer Options(in Windows 10). In the View tab, enable the Show hidden files, folders and drives tick box.

Locate the hidden folder C:\Users\[your Windows user name]\AppData\Roaming\Artec\Artec Installation Center. Inside this folder, delete the files aic.dat and cache.ini.

Launch the Artec Installation Center application
Note: For quick access to the application, hit the Windows key on your keyboard, type Artec or aic and click on the application shortcut as it appears in your search results. -
After a brief delay, you will see the login window appear. Type in your Artec login information (note: your email address is your login).
The Artec Installation Center application will launch, and all scanners and software associated with the credentials that you entered will be displayed. -
In case you need to activate a software license or a scanner, simply click the Activate button in the corresponding row.
